This month, as we feature the dog breed of German Shepherds, we are excited to bring you the story of Ink, a member of the K-9 unit in South Australia. As we know, German Shepherds (also known as GSDs, which stands for German Shepherd Dog) are part of the working group of dogs and are the some of the most successful service dogs in the world. You see GSDs in airports, police vehicles as K-9 units, just like Ink, and as service dogs for those who need assistance based on a disability. They are also affectionate, obedient, strong and loyal to a fault, which makes the beautiful GSD makes an ideal pet for the whole family to love. However, because of their size, GSDs are on the very high risk for mobility health issues.
Read on to learn more about how Ink is doing now that he is a #GlydeDog, thanks to Glyde™ Mobility Chews.
Recently, Tony introduced us to his handsome GSD, Ink. Just like other GSDs, Ink was suffering from osteoarthritis. But his story doesn’t end there. Thanks to Tony being proactive, Ink has much more to do now that he is a #GlydeDog. Here’s how Glyde® Mobility Chews helped Ink continue in his duties with his handler, Tony.
“My 6-year-old GSD has been on the Glyde chews for about 7 months now. He suffers from some degenerative arthritis in his spine. Ink thinks Glyde is very yummy and he loves them. His overall movement and body language has been great during this period. I was especially pleased to see during the colder winter months, he didn't appear to stiffen up or have any obvious restrictions of movement.”
