As we continue to work through unprecedented conditions, there are some great examples of how dogs and humans have helped in the recovery efforts. From herding sheep to rescuing koalas, you can bet these dogs know they are needed and have strengthened efforts with their unique talents.  # Dog Team Finds Koalas  What is exciting about this news clip from *CBS News, *is it is a team of 3 adorable dogs: Tommy, Emma and Becky. Together they are working to discover the timid koalas hiding in the trees. Koalas only live in Australia and are on the endangered species list. The Word Wildlife Fund says more than 30,000 may have perished, although the final toll won't be known for months. Here's a [great dog group](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/australia-fires-dogs-save-koalas-injured-in-bushfires/) helping in the recovery efforts.  > 3 special canines and their trainer are rescuing koalas injured by Australia's raging bushfires. Locating these survivors is a challenge for those trying to help the animals because they are difficult for the human eye to spot. That’s where Bear comes in. His unique ability to sniff out the koalas because of the scent of their fur. They include: - [Fur Life Foundation](https://www.furlifefoundation.org.au/) is supporting rural communities impacted by the bushfire. Apiam Animal Health is one of our national veterinary clinic partners and we are proud of their efforts supporting this cause. You can donate on line, or in person at any of their clinics in Australia.  - Donate to [WIRES](https://www.wires.org.au/rescue/emergency-advice), the New South Wales-based Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc. is Australia’s largest wildlife non-profit rescue organization. - [World Wildlife Fund Australia](https://www.wwf.org.au/get-involved/bushfire-emergency#gs.rw6uq6) is focusing its efforts on koala conservation. - [Australia Zoo,](https://www.australiazoo.com.au/get-involved/) which is managed by the late Steve Irwin’s family. - Good Morning America provided a list of [Australian fire departments](https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/news/story/support-australian-wildfires-relief-effort-68093913) that could use some help too. There are many more organizations working on human efforts as well and the USA Today [recently compiled a comprehensive the list. ](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/01/07/australia-fires-how-to-help-donate-victims-animals/2832145001/) *No matter what, all those in Australia, please stay safe! *   --- ### Also in the Parnell Paws Blog [![Perfect Pet Holiday Feast: What to Share with Your Dog](https://blog.parnell.com/hubfs/What-your-dog-can-eat-for-the-holidays.jpg)](https://blog.parnell.com/en-au/perfect-pet-holiday-feast-what-to-share-with-your-dog) [Perfect Pet Holiday Feast: What to Share with Your Dog](https://blog.parnell.com/en-au/perfect-pet-holiday-feast-what-to-share-with-your-dog) 20/11/23 2:01 PM [Read More ](https://blog.parnell.com/en-au/perfect-pet-holiday-feast-what-to-share-with-your-dog) [![Advantages & Disadvantages of Online Dog Training Courses](https://blog.parnell.com/hubfs/dog%20training.png)](https://blog.parnell.com/en-au/advantages-disadvantages-of-online-dog-training-courses) [Advantages & Disadvantages of Online Dog Training Courses](https://blog.parnell.com/en-au/advantages-disadvantages-of-online-dog-training-courses) 16/08/23 2:35 PM [Read More ](https://blog.parnell.com/en-au/advantages-disadvantages-of-online-dog-training-courses) [![10 Ways to Celebrate Your Dog’s Birthday](https://blog.parnell.com/hubfs/Happy%20birthday%2c%20Dog!.jpg)](https://blog.parnell.com/en-au/10-ways-to-celebrate-your-dogs-birthday-today) [10 Ways to Celebrate Your Dog’s Birthday](https://blog.parnell.com/en-au/10-ways-to-celebrate-your-dogs-birthday-today) 1/08/23 2:37 PM [Read More ](https://blog.parnell.com/en-au/10-ways-to-celebrate-your-dogs-birthday-today) #### Share [![Share on facebook](https://7528309.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/7528309/hubfs/raw_assets/public/mV0_d-web-default-modules_hubspot/img/facebook-color.png?width=24&name=facebook-color.png) ](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.parnell.com%2Fen-au%2Fdogs-help-australias-recovery%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on linkedin](https://7528302.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/7528302/hubfs/raw_assets/public/mV0_d-web-default-modules_hubspot/img/linkedin-color.png?width=24&name=linkedin-color.png) ](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.parnell.com%2Fen-au%2Fdogs-help-australias-recovery%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dlinkedin) [![Share on twitter](https://7528304.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/7528304/hubfs/raw_assets/public/mV0_d-web-default-modules_hubspot/img/twitter-color.png?width=24&name=twitter-color.png) ](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.parnell.com%2Fen-au%2Fdogs-help-australias-recovery%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.parnell.com%2Fen-au%2Fdogs-help-australias-recovery%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=) [![Share on email](https://7528311.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/7528311/hubfs/raw_assets/public/mV0_d-web-default-modules_hubspot/img/email-color.png?width=24&name=email-color.png) ](mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fblog.parnell.com%2Fen-au%2Fdogs-help-australias-recovery%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail%20&body=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fblog.parnell.com%2Fen-au%2Fdogs-help-australias-recovery%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail) #### +MUST READ -
