Miniature dachshund are adorable smaller dogs. Some may think smaller dogs never have joint issues. Unfortunately, it is not always the case. Joint issues do not not discriminate based on size.
Amy discovered this when her mini-dachshund, Luca, had IVDD (intervertebral disc disease). This disease can affect small and large dogs alike. It is caused when the cushion between the discs in the backbone start to harden. One forceful jump can result in mild to extreme pain for dogs.
The good news is Luca was able to come back from surgery and improving with the help of Glyde® Mobility Chews. Here’s their story about how Luca became a #GlydeDog.
"Luca is a 6-year-old miniature dachshund who has IVDD and had spinal surgery just over a year ago. Since his surgery, we have to be very careful about not letting him jump on and off furniture and climb stairs, to protect his joints (especially his back). We recently started using the Glyde chews. They not only help to protect his joints, but Luca LOVES them, they're so yummy to Luca! Glyde is an easy, stress-free way to help your dog feel more comfortable."
