Update on Ink
We are proud and honoured to revisit Ink's story as a #GlydeDog, especially during this time of National Police Remembrance Day. The original story is below this update. Thankfully, Ink is just fine. But as we pay tribute and honour our police, we want to update you on what we heard from Ink’s handler, Tony.
“Ink has his mobility and his general movement is good and you wouldn't really know that he has degenerative arthritis in his back. As long as high impact & strenuous exercise is avoided, the arthritis is not really impacting on him. He chases the younger dog around at times showing that he is still top dog in the yard. The vet is very happy with his overall physical condition and he suffers no other real health issues.”

This month, as we feature the dog breed of German Shepherds, we are excited to bring you the story of Ink, a member of the K-9 unit in South Australia. As we know, German Shepherds are part of the working group of dogs and are the some of the most successful service and family dogs in the world. Affectionate, obedient, strong and loyal to a fault, the beautiful GSD makes an ideal pet for the whole family to love. However, because of their size, GSDs are on the very high risk for mobility health issues.
Recently, Tony introduced us to his handsome GSD, Ink. Just like other GSDs, Ink was suffering from osteoarthritis. But his story doesn’t end there. Thanks to Tony being proactive, Ink has much more to do now that he is a #GlydeDog. Here’s how Glyde® Mobility Chews helped Ink continue in his duties with his handler, Tony.
“My 6-year-old GSD has been on the Glyde chews for about 7 months now. He suffers from some degenerative arthritis in his spine. Ink thinks Glyde is very yummy and he loves them. His overall movement and body language has been great during this period. I was especially pleased to see during the colder winter months, he didn't appear to stiffen up or have any obvious restrictions of movement.”
