Rainbow Bridge Day Remembrance of #GlydeDog Jess

August 26, 2019

It’s Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day on August 28.  This was a good opportunity to share a story from one of our #GlydeDogs that has gone over the rainbow.

Losing a pet can be devastating. To many of us, we have fur-babies, not just pets. These lovely dogs become part of our family. Most of them are with us whenever we are home. We walk them, talk to them, sleep with them, snuggle and love them. Today, as we reflect on this day of remembrance, celebrate those pets who made your life special. Look through those old photos, remember the silly things they used to do and recognize that while it is sad they are no longer here, they are always in your heart. And we all know how they made our lives better while they were here.

Briar sent us this note about her dog Jess, a beautiful Swiss Shepherd (sometimes called a White Swiss Shepherd or a Berger Blanc Suisse). Sadly, Jess is no longer with us. These beautiful dogs are a breed from Switzerland and are a large breed. They can be compared to German Shepherds or Australian Shepherds. We are thankful that Jess had comfort in the final stages of her life thanks to Glyde™ Mobility Chews. Here is their story:

“Jess was my beautiful Swiss Shepherd and is sadly no longer with us. She passed away from heart disease last year, nearing the age of 13. I had been giving Jess Glyde Mobility Chews from the age of 6, right up until the day she passed. It was used as arthritis prevention as Shepherd's are renowned for poor hip joint conformation. But at a certain age, osteoarthritis is inevitable. The product continued to help keep her comfortable and it was noticeable if she missed just a few days of it. It made her last days better and she was more mobile on Glyde.”
