Every March basketball fans across the country unite for the NCAA® March Madness™ tournament. Here at Parnell, we have a few basketball fans, but mostly we are cattle fans. During one of those friendly office debates on the best cattle breed, we decided that a tournament was needed to crown our own cattle champion, and Parnell's Moo Madness was born.
Moo Madness will have popular, and lesser known breeds face-off in head to head competitions. Fans can join our Facebook competition and vote for their favorite breed in the matchup, and help their breed advance to the next round. Sixteen breeds will be facing off in the Blue Cow and Red Cow brackets, where the final two will compete in the Blue Cow Red Cow championship to become this year's 2019 Moo Madness champion. Right out the gate, we have a few top-seeds competing against one another. So get ready for some triumphs, upsets, and Cinderella stories until the champion is crowned on Friday, April 5th.
Parnell will also be using Moo Madness as a way to give back to the cattle communities, and encourage future generations to pursue an agriculture-based education. The winning breed's national association will receive a $1,500 donation towards their scholarship fund. However, if a scholarship fund does not exist, the funds will be equally divided between the national 4-H and FFA scholarship programs.
